Some of the most incredible experiences of my life in April/May 2019 Anno Domini.
Some mountaintop moments as I grind through the valleys of the shadows of my life...
Highlights have included;
-getting some snow out of the bushes on the summit of Bluff Knoll on April 19th... and seeing it fall on the mountain in a light sprinkling that evening...
-Mt Magog summit challenge with Nelson, Clint, Caroline and Michelle (plus a few others who didn't make it to the summit) on April 20th, broke at least one phalange bone on my finger during the descent I think...
-challenging myself again on April 21st with a solo Mt Talyuberlup summit, incredible sights...
-solo 800km-1000km drive to the mountains and back in a pretty worn out car, and sleeping in my car for several nights, making the mountain trip work on a very very tight budget...
-visiting Albany with friends...
-some amazing training sessions at Pt Peron with views of Garden Island and old guns...
-some legendary WGorge sessions, Serpentine and Kalamunda sessions including sighting an echidna in the wild.
-running fast in second hand Nike Vaporfly 4% "world record shoes"...
-finally getting to visit Yelo.
-smashing the 11,000m vertical gain barrier for my April training for the first time ever!
-Epic Kokoda sessions to the point where I know those stairs like the back of my hand after the last few years... and hearing a live Bryan Adams concert during one of the nocturnal Kokoda sessions...
Money mega tight, and emotionally very fragile, but pushing on, and finding new levels of resilience from the Most High, the Creator Triune... The ongoing living nightmare of my wife and children disappearing over a year ago still a very hard thing to deal with each day, but finding some ways to cut through and enjoy life better I think, and I think I am moving on from it much better now...
I think being forced into going to a shrink was good in some ways, although I'd rather not have had to do it, and spending more time with Gods people, getting to the mountains in April, plus making new friends, and training well in recent weeks have all been helpful things, plus trying to spend more time with reading Gods words...
Also I am now 45 years young, getting old but still got some life left I hope and moved up a Masters age group this year...
Here is a few interesting photos from Point Peron where I have some done some relaxing and ripper high intensity sessions...not a demanding course really compared to Perth hills, butthere is enough there to beat the normal flat road running stuff by a country mile...
Now for Wgorge from Super Saturday/Sunday.. the weekend I did about 1900m of vertical gain and 14 hours of training...; Lots more photos on strava... Super Saturday first;
