2021 Staying Alive...
This year has been marginally better than 2020 in some ways but marginally worse in other ways.
Life in general has become more complicated and difficult due to the WHOax being inflicted on humanity.
My racing weight has become stagnant at around 90-92kg this year which is better than the 96kg I got to last year but still well short of the 82kg I used to have.
I started the year trying to keep my training going in the hope of another shot at UTA 100km in Katoomba. Training was barely adequate but I had high hopes in April.
Then on May 8th I had a surfing accident that impacted my thoracic spine. I strongly considered not going, but the state border stayed open, my trip was booked months ago and I scored a night at the Metropole in Ktown. Somehow I made it to CP2 (32km) but had to stop there.
Broke up with girlfriend next month and between the injury, and limited racing options was very hard to reload from that.
However I eventually got going again more to look after my big heart and enjoy the trails than anything else.
Took a big risk and did the WA Track Ultra 24hr race clocking up 60km.+.. Made it through the PTS 20km Lamb race, survived my 14th? Perth Marathon 5.44 , John Gilmour track 10km in 59min, Fremantle Half Marathon in 2.29 and an entered for 6 inch....
