28km 6 inch recon intervals at BT a 61km week
Tuesday 5min warmup 2x3km 13.12/14.20 20min warmdown at BT runclub.
Wednesday,Thursday rest...(or more accurately too busy with work and other stuff)...
Friday 12km easy in 65min
Saturday AM 28km recon on tough 6 inch trails in 3hrs 5min. PM 2 x3min easy recovery jog...
Sunday relaxed 9km on trails 65min...
Total for week about 61km or 377minutes.(only my 3rd 60km+ week for the year the other two were in January prepping for 6 foot)
Really solid week of training the 185min on 6 inch course was high quality stuff, and the 3k intervals were ok too, the rest were fillers, but did their job in keeping me ticking over throughout the week, and maybe , just maybe I can start building the momentum again. Also did 300min last week, so thats two good training weeks in a row. Last weeks training included 2 hours on Serpentine trails, which has some serious elevation about 650m in 15km and bits of difficult terrain, so I have two very good long runs on the board for my 6 inch hopes, just need a couple more and the bulk of the main prep will be banked, and I can start getting some track racing going hopefully.
A lot! of constant hassles in my life at the moment, but hanging in there, and a lot of blessings too, soooo hoping this summer I might just be able to hold onto the fire of training momentum and finally make some serious progress that translates into PB attack by 2012...

Great work TB,
SixInch PB on the way?
Nice going to kick on with the training like that after Melbourne. Speaking of which, I didn't get the view I expected of you up there with the Kenyans on Sunday. What happened?! You're going to have to stay there for at least 1k next year!
By the way, if I win Lotto I'll fly you over to pace me in a 5000 (as soon as you run a 21:00 so I know you're up for it ;)
Thanks Epi and Ewen. 6 inch PB has to be likely given the indicators this year, but the daily and weekly logistical obstacles I face now just to get to starting lines ready to race well are significant.
I'm angry about failing to PB in Melbourne, and so Ive come back wanting to get straight on with it, but not wanting to overdo it, and won't get very far unless I sustain the momentum for many weeks/months... Yes they edited me out of the footage, same as they did with city to surf, when you spend several minutes looking at 3 TV cameras on 3 motorbikes, you expect to get some coverage, especially when you are in 1st, 2nd or 3rd position for all of that time. BK and I were trading the lead slightly ahead of Japhet for a lot of the first 500m. I tried to settle into my own race from the bottom of the hill, if I had run up the whole hill (800m instead of 400-500m) I may have got a guernsey. Glad I got that start photo, and not that fussed really, it was a special experience I can always remember fondly. God knows what happens next year, I for sure don't. Re 5000m pacing hahaha I'm out of frequent flyer points now, but I'm keen to pace other runners, so maybe will come over one year, at least Ive been through the airport there now, but for sure I would want to have the runs on the board first....
