Cool running is one of my favourite places to be since about 2004, its where I started the trailblazer777 nickname maybe (its hard to remember now)...awesome place to interact with other runners online...
the 12km was the original event which I first did in 1997, see my city to surf page,
they added a 4km, a half marathon and in 2009 the marathon, which I did.
C2S is 2nd biggest race in Australia, and on track to be become the biggest race in the world.
Amazing!
46km trails race ive done it a few times since it began in 2005. The wild west version of 6 foot, but probably not as hard, and about 50 times smaller fields...although its gathering momentum and numbers with international entrants in 2008 and huge improvements in 2009...Bronze labelling by the IAU in 2010!!

-My 2009 Melbourne Marathon race report is HERE....
I have had a lot of season bests in the last month or so here they are; 400m 75secs (12th November.) 1k 3.44 (first 1k of John Gilmour last week...6th November)) 2k 8.24 (27th October.) 5k 22.51 Peninsula WAMC run 15th November. 22.53 (freo fun run, October 4th won my age category as all the good people were doing the 10k...hahaha) 10k 48.39 (John Gilmour 6th November) Half (21.1km) 1.47 (first half of Melbourne Marathon 11th October) and Marathon (42.195km) 4.11 (Melbourne Marathon 11th October, should have been in 3.50's at least I reckon, but I had a big meal too close (1am) to the race start (7am) which resulted in a 16minute toilet break at 24km mark...,), So despite no PB's, some big SB's for me in the last month or so...
so although I am still pretty disappointed with what I did in October/November (especially the John Gilmour 10k track and to a lesser extent the Melbourne Marathon), I'm pleased with some good progress in the last few weeks, just hoping i can hold onto some of the momentum over the summer, and have a better year in 2010 maybe... --------------------------------------------
This video above gives a good idea of some of the sights at the Melbourne Marathon, and shows my finish in the distance...nice to have some video of my finish. Be better if it was a bit closer up footage, but its still pretty special to have this.
Nice video! Great idea to put your arms in the air. I wonder who the CR was in the early part?
That's not a bad list of season's bests. Good that our season ends in March, so plenty of time to improve on that lot - especially on the track. I can see all those up to 5k coming down for sure. All it needs is to keep that momentum and consistency going.
