Epic 5 hour trails and beach exploration adventure
Adventure time today with a successful solo attempt to find my way to the beach via as much trails as possible, with minimal bitumen, experimenting with beach running using the resistance of the water as well, saw a few birds I have never seen before at the Pt, and uncovered a bunch of new trails in the coastal hills. Made up the route as I went to some extent, but used the 3 hour exploration of the Lake Coogee trails last weekend as a starting point in my quest to run to the beach, and it was a little tricky navigating my way home, but got there in the end, and my 2.2L of drinks plus gels was just sufficient.
Woodman Pt, a 2.8km 22min barefoot beach run (11min on a 1.5km section from Jetty to Coogee Jetty), King St Lookout, Lake Coogee trails, a lightning strike less than 1 mile from me, rain, severe sunburn, mild dehydration, walking/hiking , running, this one was quite an adventure. Went for trails as much as I could to avoid bitumen today. Was able to get to Jervois Bay beach in 1 hour 39 minutes. Amazing coastal trails to explore today. Huge network of cycle paths around there too. Would like to take a bike down there if I had a functional one. Severe money troubles at the moment, but hopefully this long hike/run will be a really good piece of training for 6 inch in 3 weeks time. Keen to try and get my 7th finish on the board.

With a 5 hour adventure under your belt you should have no trouble with the 6" finish. Just don't hammer the first 3k ;-)
